Since Youtube no longer allows intermediate musicians such as myself to post video covers of other musicians I am experimenting with other services.
Youtube took my videos down and not even I can access them. I thought they would would be safe there. In that respect Youtube stole my work. So, I’m combing through my personal digital archives in hopes that I might find backups to repost.
Also, my peertube server disappeared creating a perfect storm.
So, I’ve opened accounts at Vimeo and dailymotion. I hope that soon I’ll have old and new videos posted. Health issues have hampered my efforts. But this is a project that is important to me. Rest assured that I understand that I’m probably the only one this project has any importance to.
Update: Vimeo is a bust. You can’t sing and play another artists song. It doesn’t matter that it’s basically a tribute cover song that you have no intention of profiting from. Makes one wonder how all those bar bands get away with it.
I am embarking on this project so that some day someone may look back at it with something of nostalgia. I might be of some nostalgic value to someone after I’m gone.
